UPSTREAM ACTIVITIES

RGoZ, ZPDC and RAKGas have signed PSA for Pemba Zanzibar Block whereby several activities have been conducted which include;

Full Tensor Gradiometric (FTG) Survey – Bell Geospace (UK) helped in identifying subsurface geological complexity in PZ Block.
2D Seismic Survey – BGP conducted the survey in Onshore, Offshore and Transition Zone whereby in 2019, all Data acquired were interpreted and the result were submitted to ZPDC.
Preparation of 3D Seismic and Exploration Well Drilling – The contractor have tried to produce the possible location for 3D Seismic Survey which will allocate a specific point for drilling an exploration well.

DOWNSTREAM INVESTMENT

Just few years back, Zanzibar has shown a potential of having hydrocarbons reserves. Since then, many International Oil Companies (IOCs) started showing interest in Exploring and Producing hydrocarbons in Zanzibar. ZPDC as a National Oil Company is on the preparation to participate in Midstream and Downstream operations and the unique geographical position of Zanzibar may prove to be an appropriate hub for many business opportunities including Oil and Gas Projects. The Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (RGoZ) has identified Mangapwani area as key strategic location for Oil and Gas projects.
